BEYOND THE BASICS. GETTING DOWN TO BUSINESS.
Strategic Social Networking for 2012
Start the new year with a solid advantage by working social media – like you mean it.
Half-baked exposure on social networks can diminish brand value. Seriously.
Learn how to build a robust framework to engage your social customers. Do you need a social media policy for your staff? Should you outsource those tweets? Are you actually ready to be out there, or would it help to listen first? Is it worth getting professional help to set up a blog, Facebook page, develop content?
Discover what’s working, how to experiment (more effectively, more safely), track your results and develop an invincible case for marrying your online efforts with your business objectives - hint, it’s not just marketing anymore.
For those of you who realise that there is so much more to social media than Facebook and Twitter. Come level up with us.

We believe that project-based learning accelerates understanding. Even on these single day programs, expect interactive, practical exercises to apply the principles immediately. You will get Mel’s presentation from the day to explore afterwards at your leisure, so you can pay attention to learning in the moment, rather than frenzied note-taking.
Through the day you’ll explore:
- Beyond using Facebook/Twitter to broadcast a marketing monologue. What now?
- Discern the pivotal trends, so you don’t waste time and money on the “next big thing“
- Learn how to identify, delight and retain your social customer – what tools? what talent?
- Engagement no longer optional. Develop a roadmap to schedule your evolution.
- Linkbaiting, newsjacking, flame wars, buying followers. Maximise attention, ethically?
- Define tone and personality for consistent, accessible brand character .
- “Viral” is tricky to engineer, and money can’t buy it. Stack the odds in your favour.
- Web PR. It operates in realtime. What to do when it all goes wrong.
- Track your Online Reputation Management. Critical.
- Guidelines and policy for staff SM activity.
- How to measure your results (and insights), and tie them to business objectives.
- Develop a brand community – for loyalty, referrals, and even a handy immune system.
- Consumer behavior is changing fundamentally. What’s the harm in being left behind?
- Strategic SM extends beyond the marketing and PR departments, recognise and plan for the shift to reap early advantage.
Who is this best for?
CMOs; marketing and PR teams (particularly leadership); business owners who need outsmart not outspend strategies; marketers who need to improve their future prospects in digital; CRM practitioners; content developers and managers; turnaround specialists who need power tools.
